Day 16 - A message to Escape the Fate
i actually wrote one on Facebook and attempted sending it to Craig because I had hugged and thanked him a couple nights before at a concert haha of course he’s probably not going to read or reply to it though. it’s been a little more than a month :(
well here it is:
Hi Craig :) My name’s Marissa _______ from ______, Ca. Mind if I share a few things with you? Few is probably an understatement haha. Well, you guys have been my favorite band since March of 2010 so about 2 years now. And these past 2 years have been a little rough, but full of music. ____ ____, body conscious, problems of a middle schooler transitioning to being a freshman. That’s where music has come in. Just helping me get through it all and I can say I’m doing pretty well right now. No ___ for about 4-5 months, I’m happy with myself, and I’ve come to learn and accept that “things change, friends leave, and life doesn’t stop for anybody” (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, my favorite book). When people ask why you guys are my favorite, my answer is because I love every single one of your songs, on an album or not. Sure I favor some over others, but that’s just it. I love them all and I can’t say that about any other band. I saw you guys for the first time last year on March 5th in San Francisco and it was 1 of the 3 best nights of my life, the other 2 being when I saw Mayday Parade and when I saw you guys again on the 19th. It was my very first concert and it got me into concerts. I’ve been to 6 others since. I just love the chaos and unity they bring to the crowd. I saw you guys for the 2nd time just a couple days ago on the 19th at the same venue. It felt like home. I also met you and hoped to give you a letter from me to the band, but I wasn’t able to write one before the show so that’s why I’m writing you here and hope you take the time to read and reply back. Brown hair with blonde on top, glasses? You probably don’t remember haha but if you do, that’s amazing. It’s just so surreal to meet a band member because their music helps a lot, yet they’re just a person like you, you know? I love and appreciate you all so much and wish you guys could truly know how much I’m thankful and how much you’ve helped and continue to help me. Monte is the one that inspired me to pick up guitar. It was nice seeing you talk to all the fans and hugging you and exchanging words even if it was just thank yous. I hope to talk to you more some time. You guys all have such great personalities and hearts and I can’t wait to meet the rest of the guys. It was so amazing to see Monte and Michael play on stage side by side together. My favorite quote from Robert: “Ladies and gentleman, the fucking golden goose is on the fucking loose! God damn it! The platinum platypus is playing on a plane!” haha Well I just want to say thank you again, for a lot. Plan to see me at any shows I can get my hands on tickets for! haha I’m looking forward to the new album especially since you said it’ll have some of the TWIO elements in it. well i sorta mentioned it in my message thing up there ^, but i guess i’ll say it again haha. I, Marissa, love Escape the Fate because 1) i love every single one of their songs and i can’t say that about any other band and also 2) their personalities. i love all band members as people (with 2 exceptions), but idk, there’s just something about them, being my favorite band, you know? i know you do haha
